What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Services Assistant - Part Time (Activities/Driver Transport) position at Noland Health Services?
- Must have current driver's license, an excellent driving record and knowledge of Birmingham and surrounding areas.
- Will transport residents to and from MD appointments and other outings.
- Position will be 8A-4:30 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week.
Summary of Duties
Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs, in accordance with the residents’ interests and abilities.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist in developing and maintaining an activity schedule.
- Arrange transportation to field trips, appointments, and to other facilities when necessary.
- Assist in scheduling activities for residents.
- Assist residents by visiting with them, writing letters, running errands, making appointments, etc., as necessary.
- Encourage and assist residents to participate in activities. Provide materials as necessary.
- Involve the resident/family in planning objectives and goals for the resident.
- Conduct activities with residents as directed.
- Supervise activities as necessary.
- Make routine visits to residents and provide assistance with crafts, projects, etc. as necessary.
- Assist in developing volunteer activity assignments.
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor, including any special projects.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. No experience required. On-the-job training provided.

- Must be able to move consistently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to reach, bend, and/or stoop intermittently throughout the work day.
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry up to 50 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance.
- Must be able to walk/stand 75% of the day.
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
