The Materials Planner – Level 2 at Nomad GCS is responsible for processing material requirements in the ERP system and maintaining a real-time material plan to support production schedules and safety stock levels. This role works closely with Purchasing, Production, and Engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, prevent shortages, and avoid disruptions in production. Key duties include monitoring Bill of Materials accuracy, generating supplier delivery schedules, and creating tools to track material flow and inventory. Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers, while analytical abilities support effective planning and decision-making. A high school diploma or GED is required, with preference given to candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least two years of experience in material planning, forecasting, or scheduling.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY:
· Process in a timely and efficient manner all new requirements as they are identified in ERP.
· Work closely with the Purchasing staff on new requirements to ensure timely delivery to meet production demand.
· Maintain the flow of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels.
· Maintain the material plan in real-time.
· Assess volume requirements against the Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements.
· Take follow up actions concerning material shortages that affect production.
· Utilize ERP reporting to create desktop tools to manage the flow of materials to Production.
· Monitor the integrity of BOM’s and manage inventory accuracy for those items under Planning control.
· Collaborate with internal customers to forecast, plan, and facilitate on-time materials to Production as and when required, avoiding disruption to production.
· Generate and communicate supplier material delivery schedules and forecasts to ensure they reflect requirements and meet demands.
· Support assessment and sourcing of suppliers in conjunction with members of purchasing.
· Effectively communicate with cross-functional internal teams and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, to ensure alignment and smooth coordination.
· Analyze data and generate insights to support planning and decision-making
· Take on additional duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls. Ability to stand and sit for extended periods as required by task assignment.
· Frequent standing, walking, and sitting throughout the day. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
· Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors, necessary for both office tasks and production work.
· Must have the physical stamina to adapt to varying workload demands and stand or sit for prolonged periods depending on the specific tasks of the day.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
· Work is split between a partially environmentally controlled indoor manufacturing area and a professional office setting. Temperatures in the manufacturing area can fluctuate between 60°F and 100°F, typically maintained around 70°F in the office.
· Exposure to varying noise levels from moderate in the office to loud on the production floor; safety hearing devices provided as needed.
· Possible exposure to household and commercial chemicals with adherence to safety protocols outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) required. Safety glasses and closed-toed shoes are mandatory when on the production floor.
· Regular interaction with team members, guests, and clients in a professional setting. Everyday workwear must be business casual/smart casual and appropriate for the office environment.
· Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators or protective coveralls may be necessary for specific tasks on the production floor.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
· High school graduate or GED required.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
· Minimum 2 years of experience in material planning, forecasting or scheduling preferred
· Strong computer skills, proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Programs.
