Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise field teams conducting cultural resource surveys (Class I, II, and III)
Record archaeological sites, assess National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility, and prepare reports
Conduct field testing, construction monitoring, and artifact analysis
Ensure compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and other federal / state regulations
Engage with agencies, stakeholders, and tribal entities as part of the consultation process
Provide technical writing and review for project documentation
Travel as needed for fieldwork and agency coordination
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field
Meets the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Standards for Archaeology (36 CFR 61)
Permitted or immediately permittable within Colorado and applicable federal agencies
Strong understanding of cultural resource management (CRM) and federal historic preservation laws
Experience leading CRM field surveys and supervising field crews
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, GIS applications, and field data collection software
Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed
