Role Overview

Nooks is seeking a Principal Site Lead to drive the full spectrum of operations at our El Segundo, CA facility. This role demands a highly capable generalist who excels in design, construction, business operations, security operations, customer experience, personnel management, sales, and marketing . The ideal candidate is a critical thinker, a skilled program and project manager, and a decisive leader who confidently makes decisions aligned with their authorities.

The Principal Site Lead will report to the Director of Operations and be a key member of the Operational Leadership Team, responsible for building and leading a team of 15-20 Industrial Security, Information Technology, Hospitality, and Support Professionals . They will play a crucial role in bringing Nooks El Segundo to full operational capability, ensuring it meets the highest standards of security, functionality, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

This role demands full ownership of all aspects of the Nooks El Segundo site. The Principal Site Lead will operate as the executive leader of the facility, ensuring its success across operations, finance, personnel, security, and customer satisfaction. They will be responsible for running the site as their own business unit, making strategic decisions, driving execution, and delivering results.

1. Strategic Leadership & Site Management

Oversee and direct all facets of the Nooks El Segundo site, ensuring seamless integration across construction, security, and operations, working closely with the Director of Operations and Security.
Own all engagements and strategic relationships, serving as the primary decision-maker and site representative for Nooks El Segundo, engaging with the General Contractor, subcontractors, and landlord .
Ensure construction security measures are implemented and optimized.
Guide the accreditation process for classified spaces, ensuring compliance with NISPOM and ICD 705 .
Develop strategic goals in collaboration with Nooks leadership and peer site leads in Arlington, VA, and Colorado Springs, CO .

2. Talent Development & Organizational Leadership

Supervise the El Segundo team, including Program Security Officers , IT and Cybersecurity Experts , Cryptologic Manager, Facility Technicians, and Customer Support Staff

Cultivate a high-performing, accountable team that operates with excellence and agility to meet mission-critical objectives.

3. Operational Excellence, Security & Customer Success

Ensure the El Segundo site operates efficiently , maintains security integrity, and exceeds customer expectations. This includes ensuring readiness, maintenance, customer satisfaction, risk mitigation, and compliance with DCSA, DIA, and other oversight bodies .

Maintain compliance with NISPOM, ICD 705, and DoDM 5205.07 Volume 2 security regulations while ensuring a seamless and high-quality customer experience. Lead security audits, risk assessments, and emergency response planning .

4. Financial Stewardship & Growth

Take full ownership of the P&L for Nooks El Segundo , driving revenue growth, optimizing costs, and ensuring financial health., working closely with the CFO.

Oversee budgeting, procurement, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency. Participate in operational and financial strategy reviews .

5. Strategic Partnerships & Market Expansion

Build and maintain strategic relationships with government agencies and defense industry partners in Southern California .

Expand market presence by identifying opportunities, building partnerships, and positioning Nooks as the leader in classified infrastructure. with government and industry customers, in coordination with the Director of Sales and other Site Leads.

Represent Nooks at industry events and government meetings to advocate for CIaaS adoption.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizen with an active or recently active (within 6 years) Top Secret / SCI clearance .

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Security, or a related field.

10 years of experience leading teams in complex projects, coordinating with multiple groups, and collaborating to achieve specific mission objectives, preferably in classified national security environments .

Leadership and personnel management skills : Demonstrated success leading specialized teams and leading teams of diverse skills and levels of experience.

Budget management and financial analysis : Demonstrated experience managing a budget, driving a P&L line of business, and managing costs.

Preferred Qualifications :

Professional familiarity and certifications in Industrial Security, Cybersecurity, IT, or Program Management .

Established network within DoD and Intelligence Communities .

Experience in business development, sales, or customer engagement .
