We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our dermatology practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, checking out patients and collecting payments, and providing administrative support to the medical staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing quality care and making sure our patients have a positive experience.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Acts as a face of the practice. Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer phones and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and collect payments for services rendered.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as electronic faxing tasks, office email response and other office functions.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Assures registration materials and patient demographic information is compete and accurate.
- Works well independently and as a team member.
- Maintains strict patient confidentiality.
- Ability to educate patients regarding cosmetic procedures and products.
- Insures proper patient check-out and facilitate efficient office flow.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in difficult situations along with a providing a high level of customer service.
- Able to function at the check-in and check-out position.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous front office dermatology/cosmetic procedure experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical-grade skincare products and cosmetic procedures a plus
- ModMed EMA experience a plus
- Excellent customer service skills required
- Understanding and experience with insurance and collections preferred
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to any situation
- Ability to work well with other members of the team and foster a family environment
- Detail-oriented and computer proficient
Pay Rate: Starting at $18/hr. and up, depending on experience.
