Summary:
The Contract Specialist will be responsible for the preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards. This position plays a key role in supporting project execution by managing vendor agreements, client contracts, and other business-related agreements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including service agreements, vendor contracts, subcontracts, and NDAs.
- Ensure contract terms align with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
- Manage contract modifications, renewals, terminations, and extensions.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including prevailing wage and labor regulations.
- Identify risks within contract terms and provide recommendations to mitigate exposure.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of regulations applicable to the construction and utility services industry.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain a centralized database of contracts and related documentation.
- Track contract milestones, deliverables, and obligations to ensure timely execution.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the Operations, Finance, and HR teams to ensure alignment of contractual obligations.
- Serve as the point of contact for contract-related inquiries from vendors, clients, and subcontractors to include pre-qualification packages.
- Address and resolve contract disputes or issues efficiently.
Process Improvement:
- Develop and implement standardized contract templates and processes.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings within the contract management lifecycle.
Qualification Requirements:
Education:
- Degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or equivalent experience in a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in contract management, preferably in the construction or utility services industry.

Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of contract law, risk assessment, and procurement practices.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
