Position Overview: The Aerospace Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of parts assembly and composite cleanroom operations within our aerospace manufacturing facility. This role ensures adherence to industry standards while optimizing production processes for efficiency, quality, and safety. The Aerospace Production Manager will lead a team of technicians and operators, driving a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor a team of 15-20 technicians and operators.
- Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Cultivate a work environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and high performance.
- Cleanroom & Parts Operations:
- Manage daily operations of the composite cleanroom and parts assembly areas, ensuring compliance with NADCAP, AS9100, and other aerospace industry standards.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) in cleanroom processes and operations.
- Work closely with team members to monitor production activities and maintain cleanroom integrity.
- Quality Assurance:
- Monitor and support team efforts to maintain high quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and quality checks to ensure compliance with quality protocols and specifications.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Process Improvement & Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline production workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements and new technologies.
- Lead or participate in initiatives to continuously optimize production methods and enhance operational performance.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all operations comply with regulatory and safety standards, maintaining up-to-date documentation as required.
- Maintain detailed records of cleanroom operations, including maintenance logs, training certifications, and incident reports.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Equipment Management:
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and calibration of large ovens, autoclaves, and other equipment.
- Coordinate with facilities management to schedule repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance.
- Communication & Reporting:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for department issues, concerns, and initiatives.
- Attend and actively participate in monthly efficiency and performance meetings to report on departmental progress and goals.
- Foster clear, transparent communication between the production team and other departments.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in aerospace production or manufacturing, with a focus on cleanroom operations or composite assembly.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide employees.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- In-depth knowledge of cleanroom protocols and contamination control techniques.
- Proficient in quality management systems, documentation practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with large ovens, autoclaves, and related production equipment is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
