Job Description
Norco is currently seeking a positive and proactive individual to fill our Payroll Coordinator position. The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for processing payroll and supporting employee benefit programs at Norco. The Payroll Coordinator will also advise managers and employees on questions or problems relating to employee payroll issues. Problem solving includes detailed analysis and reconciliation in addition to adherence with multiple, and frequently changing, regulations. Impact includes potential for significant legal implications.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Administer time keeping system to ensure employee compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations.
- Process semimonthly payroll.
- Work closely with Human Resources and the Payroll and Benefits Manager to ensure the integrity of employee data.
- Prepare and process payroll taxes, garnishments, liens, and other miscellaneous stipend payments
- Assist with various payroll reconciliations and audits.
- Oversee preparation and process of required payroll reporting and multi-state tax filings as regulated by various agencies including annual W-2/1095 filings.
- Collaborate with management on payroll software upgrades, problems, or opportunities.
- Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of payroll processing experience
- Knowledge of basic Human Resources concepts and systems
- Knowledge and understanding of time keeping and payroll systems
- General familiarity with the employment laws that impact payroll and benefits (HIPPA, FLSA, ACA, etc.)
- Working knowledge of multi-state payroll laws
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
- Excel proficiency
- Adaptability to frequent changes in priorities, fast pace of work
- Attention to detail is critical to effectively and accurately process information from multiple sources
- Accurately enter data into computer and acquire a working knowledge of any software applications applicable to the position
