Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are a high-quality Metal Fabricator looking to add a Project Manager to our team. Under the direct supervision of the Plant Manager, the Project Manager will oversee the management of Company projects from the initial project kick-off and specification review through final design, fabrication, shipment, assembly, installation, and warranty of the equipment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

• Manage all aspects of assigned Company projects from kick-off through contract completion including the warranty period.
• Manage projects to meet all contract requirements, on time and within budget
• Perform Detailed specification and contract reviews to ensure compliance with customer expectation
• Develop and manage project schedule including coordination of internal and external resources to realize timeline
• Generate / Review and Manage all Requisitions and Contracts/ PO's with suppliers and fabricators
• Manage critical project commercial decisions such as purchase orders, change orders, vendor deliveries, etc.
• Coordinate Designers and Drafters to ensure project design effectiveness and timeliness
• Execute and/or assure timely and accurate commercial and technical communication with clients and vendors
• Manage scope changes/adjustments with clients and sub-vendors within Company policies and procedures
• Promote and maintain a safe, clean work environment in accordance with OSHA, State and local regulations
• Maintain accountability for all company code of conduct standards and operational procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Education - Bachelor’s degree in project management, mechanical engineering, metal manufacturing or similar/related program. In lieu of degree, Trade School and/or Vocational Training in project management, Fabrication or equivalent work history.
• Job Experience - To ensure success as a project manager, you should have knowledge of industrial metal fabrication, a good eye for detail, and excellent mathematical skills. Project Managers with experience in Power or heavy industrial equipment supply preferred.
• Related - Prior experience working on expansion joint and damper projects is a plus. PMP certification is a plus. AutoCad Experience a plus.

EQUIPMENT USED:

• Computer
• Familiar with MS Office software and other scheduling tools

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Occasional elevated indoor temperatures associated with Southeastern USA weather.
• Rare exposure to heights and industrial workplace conditions.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL FUNCTIONS:

• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read blueprints and recognize welding symbols and specifications
• Knowledge of industry safety practices

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
• Minimal lifting above 25-50 lbs.
• Must be able to wear a respirator
• Ability to work in standing, squatting, or kneeling positions as well as reaching overhead with occasional twisting and bending
• Ability to work in small spaces

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

Work schedule is generally 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday but may be revised based on job requirements per specific contracts. Such schedule will be agreed upon by employee and the Company. This position is an exempt position and work outside of standard business hours may be required.
