Job Description
The Lower School Band Director is part of the Lower School faculty. The teacher will carry out curriculum planned in collaboration with grade-level partners, the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and other instructional specialists such as the Upper School Band Director and Fine Arts Team, to be approved by the Lower School Director and Campus Assistant Director. The Lower School Band Director will be responsible for planning and teaching lessons on a variety of band instruments, including flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone and percussion to 1st and 2nd year players. Expectations of a Christmas and Spring recital presentation will be included in the role.
This position will teach the following classes:

Qualifications
- A strong, personal faith in Christ lived out in Christian character and worldview.
- College graduate, preferably in Music Education with an emphasis on Instrumental Music.
- Experience with teaching beginning band students.
- Licensed and endorsed by the Commonwealth of Virginia .
- Spiritual maturity with academic and leadership abilities that will allow him or her to daily “train up a child in the way they should go.”
Contract Details
- Contracted by the Head of School upon recommendation of the school administrator for one year.
- Responsible to School Directors
- Supervises Students and Volunteers
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $19,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 per week
