Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Development Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in real estate development or finance, with a passion for delivering high-quality, affordable housing projects on time, within budget, and with a positive community impact. This role requires a strong understanding of deal structuring, finance, design, and construction management, as well as the ability to lead complex partnerships with public, non-profit, and private stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of affordable housing, mixed-use, and mixed-income projects from concept to completion.
  • Oversee deal structuring, financing, design, and construction processes to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Navigate public, private, and quasi-public financing programs for affordable housing and commercial real estate, particularly in Massachusetts (i.e. LIHTC, Masshousing, MOH, etc).
  • Lead and coordinate complex partnerships involving public agencies, non-profits, and private stakeholders.
  • Conduct feasibility analyses, site selection, and zoning approvals for land development projects.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental assessments, and infrastructure design requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress, risks, and opportunities.
  • Assist with asset management and other assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, urban planning, community development, or a related field.
  • Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate development, real estate finance, or a related field.
  • Experience with large-scale mixed-use, mixed-income development projects and public land disposition is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with public, private, and quasi-public financing programs for affordable housing and commercial real estate, particularly in Massachusetts.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of deal structuring, finance, design, and construction management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent critical thinking, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, technology, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., E-Builder, GIS).
