Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Development Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in real estate development or finance, with a passion for delivering high-quality, affordable housing projects on time, within budget, and with a positive community impact. This role requires a strong understanding of deal structuring, finance, design, and construction management, as well as the ability to lead complex partnerships with public, non-profit, and private stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the development of affordable housing, mixed-use, and mixed-income projects from concept to completion.
- Oversee deal structuring, financing, design, and construction processes to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Navigate public, private, and quasi-public financing programs for affordable housing and commercial real estate, particularly in Massachusetts (i.e. LIHTC, Masshousing, MOH, etc).
- Lead and coordinate complex partnerships involving public agencies, non-profits, and private stakeholders.
- Conduct feasibility analyses, site selection, and zoning approvals for land development projects.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental assessments, and infrastructure design requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Assist with asset management and other assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, urban planning, community development, or a related field.
- Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate development, real estate finance, or a related field.
- Experience with large-scale mixed-use, mixed-income development projects and public land disposition is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with public, private, and quasi-public financing programs for affordable housing and commercial real estate, particularly in Massachusetts.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of deal structuring, finance, design, and construction management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent critical thinking, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal, written, technology, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., E-Builder, GIS).
