JOB GOAL: Monitor school campus for student and staff safety
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm , 1 hr. lunch; plus benefits; school year only
EVALUATION: Evaluated annually on the basis of job performance, effort, and enthusiasm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Consistent and punctual "on site" attendance at the worksite is an essential job function
- Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates
- Monitor students before, after, and during school hours (passing time and lunch time) to preserve order and protect property
- Patrol outside areas to secure safety in parking areas, issue parking violations, assign staff parking stalls, contact parents/guardians of chronic parking violations
- Answer alarms and investigate disturbances
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, students, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
- Write reports of irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
- Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons
- Access, monitor, and produce surveillance video when assigned to do so by administration
- Warn persons of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises
- Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering
- Report all accidents and advise about all possible safety problems
- Other duties as assigned
