Job Duties
Provides support to the processing unit to include day-to-day processing and verifying student records, general awarding of students, counseling functions as it relates to reviewing documentation for professional judgment, dependency appeals, Satisfactory Academic Progress and for the timely processing and decision making of said documents. The incumbent will process verification documents and ensure accuracy and completion and perform need analysis. This employee will process FAFSA corrections via Colleague or FAFSA Processing System to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
A. Adhere to interpret, and implement, federal and state, and institutional policies and procedure. Monitors ISIR’s and update accordingly
B. Complete ISIR file verification in accordance with federal Title IV guidelines
C. Document tracking and aid processing
D. Perform other duties and adheres to established university standards of time and attendance while delivering excellent customer services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to learn and use an automated financial aid system.
- Ability to make independent decisions and sound judgement.
- Knowledge of federal financial aid and state regulations and requirements. Ability to apply knowledge, interpret and make decisions regarding regulations.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, with a high degree of accuracy, courtesy, timeliness, and structure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, patience, and commitment to customer service.
- Knowledge of electronic funds transfer.
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in social work or business administration.
- Associate's degree with 4 years financial aid counseling experience.
- Customer service experience.
