Norfolk Waterside Marriott is hiring a Human Resources Assistant. We are seeking a team player who is positive, energetic, organized and can prioritize in a fast -paced and dynamic environment!
Summary: This position assists with the day- to- day administrative duties of our Human Resources department and works closely with all departments and associates to ensure excellent internal customer service.
- Maintain and monitor the applicant tacking system; post/remove/update hourly requisitions
- Administer the Referral Program
- Oversee New Hire Process:
- Create offers
- Initiate background checks
- I9 - E-Verify
- Onboarding scheduling, invites, presentation, etc.
- Generate EID’s, emails for new hires that need them
- Create onboarding packets/make name tag
- Participate in and facilitate Safety/Associate Advisory Meetings
- Assist with property associate events and community outreach efforts
- Process HR Department invoices
- Field benefit questions, send open enrollment communications, monitor/communicate new hire enrollment
- Order HR Office supplies
- Payroll:
- Review Timecards for inaccuracies, missed punches, etc.
- Compiles payroll data such as garnishments, insurance, and 401(k) deductions, meal ticket deductions, shoe deductions.
- Responsible for balancing payroll runs and preparing for transmission.
- Handle GM checks and pay discrepancies
- Manage Shoes for Crews, parking, Food Safety and tuition reimbursement programs
- Oversee Employee of the Month recognition program
- Create/distribute Lobby Ambassador schedule
- Create fliers and update bulletin boards
- Additional duties as required
