Job Summary:
The Youth Event Coordinator & Aquatics Manager is responsible for organizing and overseeing youth events while managing the daily operations of aquatic programs and facilities. This dual-role position involves planning and executing engaging youth programs while ensuring a safe and well-maintained aquatic environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, safety-conscious, and passionate about youth engagement and water safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Aquatics Management (Primary Responsibility)
- Oversee the operation of aquatic facilities, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and compliance with health regulations.
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise lifeguards, swim instructors, and aquatic staff.
- Develop and manage aquatic programs, including swim lessons, water safety courses, and recreational activities.
- Monitor water quality, equipment maintenance, and overall facility upkeep.
- Ensure staff is trained in emergency response, CPR, and water rescue procedures.
- Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to minimize risk and ensure guest well-being.
- Handle member inquiries, concerns, and feedback related to aquatic programming.
- Develop and manage budgets for aquatic operations, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
Youth Event Coordination
- Plan, organize, and execute youth-focused programs, events, and recreational activities.
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and event staff as needed.
- Evaluate program success through participant feedback and attendance metrics to improve future events.
- Ensure all events align with policies and provide a safe and inclusive environment for youth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in recreation management, sports administration, youth development, or a related field (preferred).
- Certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Water Safety Instruction (required or ability to obtain).
- Experience in aquatic facility management, swim instruction, and lifeguard supervision.
- Strong background in event planning and youth programming.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and emergency response protocols.
