Position: Machinist
Location: Waukesha, WI
Reports To: Finishing Supervisor
Part I - Position Purpose
We are seeking a skilled Machinist with expertise in precision and quality of machined components for casting products. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment such as presses, CNC machines, grinders, and other machining tools to finish and modify castings according to customer specifications and engineering drawings. This position will also perform inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy, troubleshoot machining issues, and a safe working environment. This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, material properties, and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders to meet production goals efficiently.

Part II - Job Functions
- Promote a safety-first working environment.
- Assemble components based on blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications.
- Inspect and prepare metal surfaces prior to welding, including grinding, cleaning, and cutting as needed.
- Operate and maintain equipment, tools, and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
- Conduct inspection to ensure the structural integrity and quality of machined parts.
- Collaborate with foundry and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a team orientated attitude.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any issues or malfunctions.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required; certification in machining or related is a plus, associate degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of machining experience, experience in a foundry or related preferred.
- Knowledge of machining, tools, materials, and processes related to metal castings.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and other technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to lift and manipulate castings and work in physically demanding environments. Ability to push/pull 50lbs.
- Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Active participant in teamwork and collaborative environment.
- Proactive and resourceful to problem solve, asking questions when unsure of something.
- Willingness to help team members, helping out in other departments on occasion depending on workload.
