Job Summary:
This position requires a comprehensive understanding of nutrition assessment, ongoing evaluations, and educational services for patients and staff. With a focus on various subspecialties, including diabetes and renal care, the successful candidate will ensure high-quality nutrition care while staying updated with new research.
Responsibilities:
Provide initial nutrition assessment of patient condition
Provide ongoing reassessment and follow-up care
Provide nutrition education services for patients and staff
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education: Any program approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that leads to registration as a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RD/RDN)
Experience: Six months of clinical experience in an acute care facility preferred
Licensure/Certification: Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and an Oklahoma State license must be achieved within the first 6 months of eligibility or hire date
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to use decision-making skills to make rational and quick decisions regarding prioritizing of patient care, have the foresight to recognize unsafe work conditions and/or practices, and the ability to safely use chemicals and equipment for patients, visitors, and staff.
