Responsibilities:Job Summary
- Conduct initial nutrition assessments to determine patient condition.
- Provide ongoing reassessments and follow-up care to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Deliver effective nutrition education services for patients and staff.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
Required: Completion of a program approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics leading to registration as a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RD/RDN).
Basic knowledge of subspecialty areas, including nutrition support, diabetes, cardiology, renal, oncology, etc., is essential.
Maintain approximately 15 hours of continuing education credits per calendar year to stay current with new findings and research.
Experience
Preferred: Six months of clinical experience in an acute care facility.
Licensure/Certification
Required: Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and an Oklahoma State Dietitian license must be achieved within the first 6 months of employment.
OBTAIN A FOOD HANDLER'S PERMIT FROM THE CLEVELAND COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO HIRE OR WITHIN ONE WEEK OF HIRE.

Required: Possess decision-making skills to prioritize patient care effectively.
Recognize unsafe work conditions and practices and take necessary precautions.
Safely use chemicals and equipment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Maintain a strong knowledge base for assessing patient nutritional needs using various formulas.
