Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect to join our engineering team at Offutt AFB. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing complex computing systems to meet business and technical needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement computing infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud environments.
- Analyze system performance and implement improvements for efficiency, scalability, and security.
- Ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components across the system.
- Develop security protocols, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers, lead cross-functional teams, and serve as a subject matter expert.
- Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
- Utilize automation tools and scripting languages to streamline system deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Assess emerging technologies and recommend upgrades or new solutions to improve system performance and reliability.
- Work with business leaders, software developers, and IT teams to align system capabilities with customer needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in systems engineering, architecture, or a related technical role.
- Strong understanding of operating systems (Linux, Windows, macOS).
- Expertise in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN).
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Java, C ).
- Experience with virtualization and containerization (VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with database management systems (SQL, NoSQL).
- Experience with DevOps tools (CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins).
- Security Certification.
