Purchaser/Account's Payable Specialist

FULL TIME PURCHASING/ACCOUNTS PAYABLE JOB:

Norsk Design Build is actively seeking a motivated full-time Purchasing/Accounts Payable Specialist – someone who is responsible, quick, accurate, and organized. The Purchasing/Accounts Payable Specialist will work coordinate the buying of finished products in a professionally coordinated way. Some responsibilities include checking purchasing expenses, tracking the inbound orders, keeping track of accounts and contracts, and monitoring inventory. You will also be responsible for the financial processing of these transactions for the company.

Not required, but highly recommended that this candidate have passion and experience with design and the skills and drive to take ownership of projects. Key responsibilities include visualizing design ideas, sourcing products and materials, determining costs and inspecting construction to ensure alignment with design specifications. Collaborative work environment necessitates managing own tasks while supporting and sharing ideas with teammates. You will also be aware of construction timelines and be able to prioritize tasks and ordering material based on deadlines.

We are a full design build company.  From concept to completion, we take the ideas of our clients and bring them to life. Communication with our staff and clients is paramount. We pride ourselves on keeping our clients up to date on the process and progress of their project. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Qualified Purchasing/Accounts Payable Specialist must be proficient in their responsibilities for purchasing and managing the assorted products and services for our projects., as well as assisting with invoicing. This will also include coordinating the logistics of having them delivered and paid for.

Duties include the following:

• Sourcing suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality, and logistical expenses
• Collaborating with various internal departments to ensure that they fulfill all customer requests
• Negotiating sale agreements and supply contracts in ways that benefit their company
• Coordinating with shipping agencies and sellers to ensure timely deliveries and oversee the integrity and quality of delivered goods and services
• Authorizing payments and managing purchasing expenses with detailed record-keeping
• Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures 
• Processing invoices for payments 
• Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges
• Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

A skilled Purchasing/Accounts Payable Specialist will need to have various essential skills and qualifications to perform their duties successfully:

• Design experience is a bonus, but not required
• Logistical qualifications
• Analytical thinking ability
• Negotiation and business relations skills
• Accounting acumen
• Precise verbal and written communication abilities
• Strong attention to detail
• Motivated, self-started that can also work on a team
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, meet deadlines, identify, and address problems
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word
