Operating under the guidance of the Supply Chain Manager, the Sourcing buyer provides leadership for strategic sourcing through the identification of potential suppliers and performance of capacity analysis, cost analysis, commercial negotiations and onboarding activities.
In a typical day, your expertise:
- Identifies potential suppliers to provide goods or services where gaps and risks within the qualified supply base have been identified
- Coordinates and participates in supplier site visits with appropriate subject matter experts
- Performs capacity analysis with new and existing suppliers based on business demands
- Drafts long term supplier contracts to support business goals
- Manages supplier onboarding activities throughout qualification stage
- Proactively manages existing qualified supplier base to ensure certifications and audits are up to date
- Assists Supply Chain Manager with supplier performance monitoring by populating established KPI's
- Supports Buyers with formal supplier business reviews for underperforming suppliers
- Communicates effectively and professionally to ensure positive internal and external relationships and promote support of procurement and downstream activities
- Develops and grows professional network to identify potential business opportunities, increase visibility, and develop valuable industry insights
- Proposes improvements to increase profitability, competitiveness, reliability, quality, safety, etc.
- Adheres to and promotes applicable Policies, Procedures, Safety Rules & Regulations and Security Guidelines
- Other duties and responsibilities as required for the successful operation of business

We're thrilled to find candidates with:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5 or more years in Purchasing, Sourcing or other Supply Chain experience with professional ERP system(s), preferably with direct management and interface of suppliers
- Basic understanding of project management and quality management systems
- Basic understanding of supply agreements
- Fluent mastery of the English language
- Intermediate computer skills, including experience in Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles

- This position will require access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls. U.S. person or ITAR licence required
- Willingness and ability to travel to corporate site in Norway and globally in support of customers as necessary; as such, a valid U.S. Passport and the ability to travel between the U.S., Europe, and Canada is a requirement of the position
- The ability to draft, read, and apply QMS standard process and procedures

Physical Requirements:
- The ability to sit in front of a computer for 8 or more hours daily
- The ability to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to feel objects, tools and controls, to operate a computer and telephone keypad
- The ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
