Job Overview
The Senior Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of materials and components required for manufacturing. This role involves ensuring the timely procurement of quality materials at competitive costs while maintaining strong supplier relationships and optimizing inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and continuous improvement.
- Purchasing & Inventory: Execute purchase orders in alignment with demand planning and production schedules. Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock, optimizing working capital.
- Cost Control & Risk Mitigation: Analyze market trends, material costs, and supply chain risks to proactively adjust sourcing strategies. Work closely with engineering and production teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Supplier Performance & Quality Assurance: Monitor supplier performance metrics, including on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness. Partner with quality teams to address supplier issues and drive corrective actions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain roles, preferably in HVAC or manufacturing industries.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for supplier and internal stakeholder collaboration.
