Super Bear IGA is seeking friendly and reliable cashiers to join our grocery store team. As a Ccashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing transactions efficiently, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enjoys interacting with people, and can handle a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and assist with purchases.
- Operate cash registers and handle transactions, including cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments.
- Scan and bag groceries carefully while following store policies.
- Ensure correct pricing and promotions are applied to customer purchases.
- Assist customers with inquiries and resolve issues professionally.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including sanitizing surfaces and restocking bags or receipts.
- Verify age-restricted purchases (e.g. tobacco) and follow all legal regulations.
- Process refunds, exchanges, and store credits according to store policies.
- Monitor cash drawer balances and follow store procedures for handling money.
- Collaborate with team members and assist in other store tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Strong math and basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Friendly, patient, and customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move items up to [weight limit, e.g., 25 lbs].
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
