Job Description:
Cooper Chase is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Masonry Estimator/Project Manager to join our team at our Central Coast office located in Santa Maria, CA. This position covers the Central Coast territory, from Paso Robles to Santa Barbara. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in masonry estimating and project management, with a strong background in managing multiple projects simultaneously. This role offers a competitive salary and the potential for bonus based on performance.
As the Masonry Estimator/Project Manager, you will be responsible for estimating, managing, and overseeing masonry construction projects, as well as the procurement of new work and clients. The role also involves managing day-to-day operations, including manpower allocation, material procurement, and client management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimating:
- Prepare accurate and detailed masonry estimates for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
- Analyze blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and material requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary project information.
- Provide cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the full lifecycle of masonry projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
- Manage daily operations, including manpower allocation and scheduling.
- Procure materials and equipment as necessary, ensuring timely delivery to meet project timelines.
- Liaise with clients to ensure project goals are met and client expectations are exceeded.
- Track project costs, budgets, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope.
- Handle change orders, submittals, and RFIs (Requests for Information) as needed.
- Client & Vendor Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to drive business growth.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain smooth project flow.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with building codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Monitor the quality of work and make sure that the project adheres to the agreed-upon specifications and standards.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure proper documentation.
Must-Haves:
- At least 10 years of experience in masonry estimating and project management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of masonry materials, techniques, and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent project management skills with experience in scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, teams, and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
