This position is responsible for independently generating reports, maintaining records and monitoring employment information per established procedures. The position also is responsible for general administrative duties for Human Resources at the Freedom Mine.
Essential Duties:
- Maintains employee files in accordance to Company procedures.
- Manages the filing system and follows the records retention policy.
- Prepares Coteau and Corporate office reports as required, such as monthly staff reports, AAP, EEO, etc.
- Verifies employment information to lending institutions.
- Maintains the Company's drug and alcohol testing program.
- Oversees Coteau's food mart and acts as point of contact.
- Maintains a database of Coteau's key fob assignments.
- Coordinates locker room assignments.
- Coordinates and maintains workforce performance review process.
- Assists with onboarding of hires, including entering employee information in HR software.
- Assists with annual open enrollment, benefit, payroll, recruitment and day-to-day HR functions.
- Assists with the Company's wellness programs.
- Performs job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures, and state and federal regulations.
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides support for the Human Resource department.
- Performs receptionist duties as assigned.
- Administers HR vendor contracts.
- Coordinates Company meetings and events.
- Maintains a strong working relationship with mine site employees and vendors.
- Complies with all employment laws, rules and regulations and assists in keeping the Company in compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills.
- Advanced proofreading skills.
- Requires knowledge of personnel functions.
- This individual must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, office employees and workforce.
- Must have the ability to handle confidential and sensitive material.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced work environment.
- High level of accuracy.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate's degree in human resources or a related field, with one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
