We are a Minnesota based family-owned business with our main location in Inver Grove Heights. As we continue to grow, we currently have an opening for a Diesel Truck and Trailer technician off-site at the ABF Truck Shop. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, mechanically inclined, able to work independently, and has a strong work ethic. This position handles the complete diagnosis, repair, and general PM maintenance, and troubleshooting on heavy duty diesel.
SCHEDULE:
2nd shift, Monday- Friday, 3pm- 12am

• Mechanical aptitude (prior experience as a technician is a plus, but we willing to train!)
• Welding experience a plus for trailer technicians

A Typical Day Might Include:
•Performs basic routine servicing and repairing of diesel trucks and trailers
•Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble vehicles and examine parts for defects and excessive wear.
•Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
•Inspect the overall condition of Trucks and trailers to ensure that they meet U.S. Department of Transportation's safety requirements.
•Compile inspection reports detailing their findings
•Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements.
•Ensure the final work product meets quality standards
•Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers
•Working with customers needs for scheduling repairs.
•Entering information to customer website for work approval
Requirements

• DOT certification a plus
• Basic tool set and tool box for heavy truck repair to start (assistance programs available)
