Who We Serve:
North Bay Regional Center provides advocacy, services, support, and care coordination to children and adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties.
North Bay Regional Center serves over 12,000 people living within the geographic boundaries of Napa, Sonoma and Solano counties. We partner with community-based organizations and agencies to empower our clients to thrive and live as independently as possible within the geographically, culturally, and ethnically diverse communities we serve.
We are a nonprofit private corporation that contracts with the Department of Developmental Services to coordinate services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and NBRC is committed to being a culturally and linguistically competent agency, striving to provide the services that our diverse clients and families need in their unique circumstances.
Note: Bilingual Spanish/English skills are preferred.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree preferred. Relevant fields include, but are not limited to, social work, psychology, organizational development, adult learning, communication, education, or another related field.
Experience:
- Must have at least 4 (four) years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
OR
- Two years in a relevant professional position at North Bay Regional Center, which included developing and leading training sessions to employees.
- Must hold and maintain certification as a Person-Centered Thinking Trainer.
- Demonstrated experience in using Person-Centered Thinking skills.
- Minimum experience qualifications may be waived depending on the agency’s need for specialized skills (such as language abilities).
- Minimum education requirements may not be waived.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skills in Person-Centered Thinking.
- Knowledge of adult learning styes and effective instructional design and delivery methods.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching and training others.
- Knowledge of service delivery methods to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret legislation and regulations as they relate to the development, implementation, and evaluation of services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated ability in public speaking and conducting presentations for small to large groups.
- Advanced skills in using common office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-starter, able to work on complex problems and organize multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated critical thinker and innovative problem-solver.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to provide personal automobile transportation, or access to another form of reliable transportation, during and after working hours.
- Must be able to regularly travel to all NBRC offices within catchment area to provide employee training as well as support and oversight to assigned staff member(s).
- Must be able to occasionally travel to attend meetings outside of catchment area, including occasional overnight travel to attend statewide meetings.
- If operating own vehicle, provide minimum automobile liability insurance as required by California Law.
- Flexibility in work hours is required to meet the needs of the regional center constituency.
- This position will be primarily based in the office, however, a hybrid work arrangement may also be available.
- Fluency in a language in addition to English is desirable and may be required.
A note regarding NBRC’s expectations regarding remote, hybrid, and home-based work:
All employment at NBRC requires face-to-face, in-person interactions with NBRC clients, family members, community, and co-workers. Candidates for employment must live within commute distance to their preferred NBRC office, as well as the geographical location of their assigned clients. While 100% remote work is not available to NBRC employees, a hybrid work arrangement with a blend of in-office and home-based work may be available for new employees after successfully demonstrating achievement of performance expectations following at least 3 months of in-office work.

Bi-lingual language differential:

- For those speaking a language other than English – $150 per month

Salary Range:
- $67,668 – $74,616 with opportunities for 5% increases annually
