The Physical Therapist works alongside physicians, surgeons, therapy and nursing staff in management of patient care within their scope of practice as defined by The Louisiana Physical Therapy Practice Act. The Physical Therapist will supervise physical therapy assistants. The Physical Therapist's purpose is to restore each patient's functional mobility, alleviate pain and prevent functional decline by planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy. The physical therapist's job duties include instructing, motivating, and assisting patients in performing therapeutick exercises and functional mobility tasks related to their treatment goals. The supervising physical therapist will delegate appropriate tasks for technicians, aides and assistants to perform within the parameters defined in teh Louisiana Physical Therapy Practice Act. The Physical Therapist will document all patient care services in the electronic medical record. They will communicate patient progress and / or concerns during interdisciplinary meetings. the physical therapist will assure the continuity of care by making appropriate recommendations regarding follow up physical therapy care in the discharge setting. All physical therapists and physical therapy assistants will abide by the North Caddo Me4dcial Center policies and procedures. They will maintain patient confidentiality as defined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy
Current Licensure in Louisiana
Basic Life Support (BLS)
