What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Specialist I-Medical Records Assistant-HARNETT CI position at North Carolina Department of Adult Correction?

The purpose of this position is to provide support in the Medical Records Office and to the medical supervisors. Duties include but are not limited to computer entry of miscellaneous forms, preparing statistical reports on patients treated, data entry, filing, and entering clinical schedules. Also, submits and tracks the release of information requests; reviews medical records for completeness, collaborates with physicians, nurses and other health professionals on medical records. Backlog and scheduling lab, MD sick call and physical exam clinics, lab and X-Ray requisitions, filing and assisting all medical, mental health and dental staff locating medical charts as needed.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess the following:
Documented experience performing administrative functions in an office setting.
Demonstrated experience in organization, retention, review and filing of records.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay: $36,682.00 - $64,194.00 per year
