About the Division of Child and Family Well-Being:
At NC DHHS the Division of Child and Family Well-Being (DCFW) focuses on supporting whole child and family health and well-being for North Carolinians. DCFW works to ensure that North Carolina’s children grow up safe, healthy and thriving in nurturing and resilient families and communities. DCFW has complementary Public Health and Mental health programming that maximize services and outcomes for children and their families, including nutrition programs (SNAP, WIC and Child and Adult Care Food Program), health and prevention services for children and youth, children’s behavioral health services, and early intervention programs.
This position is responsible for all ordering and purchasing, entering and tracking Prior Authorizations and working with enrolled providers for the Cape Fear Children’s Developmental Services Agency (CDSA), a multi-program agency serving a multi-county region. As a CDSA purchaser, this position is responsible for completing all aspects of placing orders, securing quotes, clarifying product selections, adhering to deadlines, receiving items, gathering required signatures and documentation, receiving orders online and distributing items received after the Business Officer has approved the purchase. This position will audit and code accounts payable invoices and work with vendors to resolve issues as needed. Duties also include monitoring supply inventory and maintaining the agency fixed asset inventory.

- This position requires knowledge of Windows and Microsoft office programs, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel (knowledge of any other programs is a plus).
- Good written and oral communication skills, including experience with memo writing, emails and contacting vendors, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time independently.
- Demonstrated basic accounting and bookkeeping skills.
- Ability to complete and prioritize tasks to meet agency deadlines.
Management Preferences:
- Knowledge and experience with State of NC Government Purchasing Policies and Procedures.

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience;
