POSITION PURPOSE:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary person to lead our talent identification and recruitment efforts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of women's soccer at both domestic and international levels, an extensive network in the football community, and a proven ability to identify players who align with our club's playing philosophy and values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Player Identification and Recruitment:
· Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to identify emerging and established talent domestically and internationally.
· Assess players' attributes and qualities to assess their fit within our style of play and culture.
· Maintain a database of players and provide regular updates and player reports with detailed evaluations and video analysis.
Scouting Network Management:
· Build and manage a network of informants to ensure consistent coverage across key regions.
· Foster relationships with coaches, agents, and other clubs to gather insights and stay ahead in player recruitment.
Match Observation and Analysis:
· Attend live matches, tournaments, and training sessions to assess players in competitive environments.
· Collaborate with the Analytics Department to integrate video services and analytics into everyday practices, including (but not limited to) StatsBomb, Wyscout, Sportscode, Spiideo, and Insights.
Collaboration with Technical Staff:
· Work closely with the Sporting Director, Head Coach, and Analytics team to align recruitment strategies with the club's vision, playing style, and evolution.
· Communicate regularly with the coaching staff on roster needs, transfer/trade targets, roster budget, and other essential roster-building initiatives.
· Provide detailed recommendations for player acquisitions, including contract considerations and long-term potential.
Market Awareness:
· Stay informed about trends in women's soccer, including emerging leagues, youth development systems, and international tournaments.
· Monitor transfer market activity to identify opportunities and assess competition.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Proven experience in a talent identification role within professional football.
· Deep knowledge of the women's game internationally and at various levels with the United States (NWSL, USL, Collegiate, and youth).
· Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess player performance and compatibility.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
· Proficiency in using scouting software and video analysis tools.
· Coaching licenses or formal education in sports management preferred, but not required.
· Multilingual skills to facilitate international scouting preferred, but not required.
