What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Technology Support Analyst position at North Carolina State University?

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide technical support for University and CVM academic technology systems, which currently include Moodle learning management system, ExamSoft secure assessment platform, Top Hat engagement platform, Panopto video streaming platform, and Google Workspace.
- Perform routine software updates for a loaner pool of laptops and iPads used during assessments.
- Assist with the preparation of the University and CVM academic technology systems for each academic term.
- Create job aids, infographics, videos, animations, and other content that supplements support efforts.
- Assist with the adoption and implementation of new academic technology innovations into the veterinary education curriculum.
- Manage user access for University and CVM academic technology systems.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with faculty and staff throughout the CVM and with various University organizations (e.g., Digital Education and Learning Technology Applications (DELTA) and Office of Information Technology (OIT)) to improve efficiencies in the set up and support processes of academic technology systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
- Ability to competently perform tasks as a super-user or administrator of current academic technology systems, including learning management systems, assessment and engagement platforms, and video streaming/management platforms
- Efficient and expert use of applications such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or the equivalent
- Competent use of academic technology systems
- Ability to use a help request ticketing system
- Ability to design and develop support materials
- Experience designing and producing compelling graphics, infographics, and screen-cap videos using Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat Pro, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Articulate 360, Camtasia, and/or other tools of the trade
- Experience performing routine software updates on devices (Win and Mac)
- Experience completing projects, both independently and in a team, using a process oriented approach
- Familiarity with synchronous and asynchronous training development
- Awareness of usability and accessibility considerations for academic technology
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to support a wide variety of faculty, staff, and students across varied college departments
- High level of independence and initiative
- Experience with NC State University and CVM academic technology systems, which currently include Moodle, ExamSoft, Panopto, Top Hat, and Google Workspace.
- Experience using ServiceNow to track help requests
- Experience working in a higher education setting
