About the Department | The Department of Computer Science is an academic teaching and research department in the College of Engineering. It is a large and complex unit that encompasses research intensive, teaching intensive and professional activities. It is one of the largest such departments in the nation by the number of faculty and students, and its total budget and size are comparable to, or larger than, a number of NC State University colleges and divisions. |
Essential Job Duties | The Research Administration Manager is responsible for leading and managing the sponsored research team in the Department of Computer Science, overseeing all pre- and post-award functions. Your leadership experience will inspire and guide a team of five research administrators,fostering a collaborative environment while ensuring compliance with federal, state, university, and departmental policies and procedures.Additionally, you will serve as a resource for faculty and staff, providing expertise in research administration and developing tools and training to support efficient workflows. Other Responsibilities | In addition to the core responsibilities of this role, you will act as the financial liaison between the Department of Computer Science and research offices, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Attend campus meetings to stay informed on policies, support team operations as needed, and contribute to departmental events like graduations and seminars. |
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience | Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Other Discipline related to the area of assignment with 12 Credit Hours of accounting coursework and three years of professional accounting experience, of which at least one is supervisory; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
