Cashier - Controller - Accountant

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Controller/Accountant/Cashier to join our team at North Central Bank. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records and providing top-notch service to our customers in Hennepin and Ladd. Compensation to match skill/experience level.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports for the Board of Directors and internal management use.
• Manage liquidity position utilizing cash, borrowing lines and brokered deposit channels.
• Process entries associated with investment activities including pledging and safekeeping.
• Prepare, review and analyze quarterly Call Reports.
• Prepare and process monthly accrual and general ledger entries.
• Coordinate profit sharing calculations and reporting.
• Prepare, review and analyze annual budget from bank overall prospective as well as by branch. Provide financial forecasting.
• Ensure proper reporting, maintaining and balancing of the Bank's general ledger in accordance with GAAP.
• Facilitate audits and exams in coordination with outside audit firms and regulators including preparation of documents, discussion and any necessary follow up actions.
• Review laws and regulations to ensure proper compliance in the accounting and bookkeeping areas.
• Assist in the asset/liability management of NCB including preparation of calculation, review of reports and making appropriate recommendations of action.
• Advise other members of bank management on current banking issues, including salaries and benefits, management trends, market trends, departmental objective and corporate goals.
• Manage payroll processing and related inquiries.
• Analyze accounts for discrepancies and provide solutions as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree required
• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within a banking environment.
• Strong skills in financial report writing and analysis.
• Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles.
• Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting techniques.
• High level of financial acumen with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with public accounting practices is a plus.
• Experience with payroll processing is beneficial but not required.
