The Cardinal Fit program provides Exercise Science students with a unique opportunity to apply knowledge gained in the classroom with real life clients. Three Exercise Science courses currently
work with the Cardinal Fit program to provide exercise orientations, fitness evaluations, and 8-week
individualized exercise prescriptions to clients.

Description Of Key Responsibilities
Training Techniques
- Assist the instructor and students during class time
- Create and manage student assessment schedule and sign-ups for assessments. Monitor student assessments to ensure each student has completed each assessment prior to the end of the course. Follow up with students who are lagging behind.
- Complete student Assessments of Competency (AOCs) utilizing the assessment rubric.
- Work with students who have missed a class to make up movement pattern demonstrations if needed.
- Be available for extra practice with students at the student's request or the instructor's request.
- Be a resource for students who need assistance with the Cardinal Fit project.
- Supervise student CF sessions and provide verbal feedback following the session.
- Assist students in practice during class time
- Work with students who have missed a class to make up lab activities if needed.
- Be available for extra practice with students at the student's or instructor's request
- Complete student Assessments of Competency (AOCs) utilizing the assessment rubric.
- Supervise student CF sessions and provide verbal feedback following the session.
- Meet with each student regarding their client program after their initial interview and again prior to their first session. Create and manage student meeting schedule and sign-ups for meetings.
- Be a resource for students who need assistance with the Cardinal Fit project.
- Monitor weekly student CF reports and inform the instructor of any concerns/trends.
- Create/delete student staff accounts in Cardinal Fit portal
- Serve as the point person on the Cardinal Fit member portal (be able to help students/members have access, help students/faculty understand how to enter programs and fitness results)
- Ensure each member receiving a CF service has enrolled in the member portal and has uploaded a current health history form to the member portal.
- Review all member health history forms and communicate with members requiring follow-up
- Order and distribute CF tee shirts and name tags
- Support the exercise science program director with human performance lab oversight.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous quality improvement.
