PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of food service staff. Responsible for daily meal preparation and cooking, cash register operation, money transactions and stocking food and beverage items. Maintain a clean and sanitized work area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and trains the food service staff, which may include student employees, in the daily production and serving of food.
- Ensures proper food handling practices.
- Monitors proper inventory of all food service supplies and reports inventory needs to the Director of Food Service & Conference Center.
- Regularly inspects all service areas and equipment to ensure safety and sanitation.
- Completes a cleaning checklist at end of each shift.
- Has food prepared for next shift as needed as specified by the Director.
- May be asked to line cook during busy times.
- May be required to prepare the lunch and or dinner specials
- Assists the Director & Assistant to the Director in customer relations.
- Assists with organizing special functions.
- Handles guest questions and complaints.
- Greets clients at special functions.
- Assist with conference center room set-ups as needed.
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform appearance.
- Other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires High School diploma or equivalent
- Two years food service experience
- Supervisory experience
- ServSafe Certification or certifiable within 6 months.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Required to lift 30 pounds
- Stand during work shift, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Speak to customers with proper grammar and in a pleasant manner.
- Required to taste and/or smell
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
