North Central Utility (NCU) is looking for a self-motivated and results driven Service Manager, to represent NCU in the semi-trailer service industry.
North Central Utility is one of the largest semi-trailer dealerships in the nation and the largest in the North Central region with 10 locations throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota. We offer reefer, dry van and flatbed trailers from Utility Trailer Manufacturing at all locations and vocational trailers from MAC Trailers in Wisconsin - we sell new and used semi-trailers. With Moore Space, we offer temporary storage container solutions as well. Our parts department has an extensive inventory in Heavy-Duty Truck/Tractor and Trailer parts. Our broad product line and geographic coverage ensures we are a “One Stop Shop” for truck and semi-trailer parts. Our service department offers everything from routine maintenance, certified DOT inspections to precision laser alignment, as well as complete wreck repair for trailers of all makes and models. No job is too big or too small for our skilled service technicians.
This position is a safety sensitive position, requiring pre-employment and post-accident drug testing.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee service department operation
• Manage service technicians
• Manage all shop repair orders
• Increase NCU profit margins
• Ensure department sales goals are met
• Oversee department expenses
• Manage department/staff training using industry best practices
• Manage team performance reviews and staff development
• Act as a liaison between parts, sales & service
• Effective marketing
• Attend industry workshops as needed
• Educate the customer on NCU services
• Assist wherever needed in department
• Develop and leverage relationships with key decision makers
• Accurate and timely completion of sales reports
• Assist managing building maintenance
• Work with other department managers
• Identify customer needs and opportunities
• Estimating and quoting
• Motivate & lead through team excellence and work ethic
• Strong customer negotiation skills
• Understand the market and competition
• Recruit as needed
• Promote and build relationships with customers
• Promote a safety-first workplace
• Warranty administration
• Assist Operations Manager as needed
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous experience preferred
• Strong computer skills & Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiency
• Leadership skills
• Customer service experience preferred
• Proficient with technology
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, reach overhead, stoop, squat repetitively and for long periods of time
Responsibilities:
