ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Department Operations

  • Verify accuracy of the cashier counts by reconciling cash.
  • Prepare deposits for the courier to pick up.
  • Communicate with Customer Service if there are issues with a cashier’s drawer. Escalate to Store Management if discrepancies are out of the ordinary or require additional follow-up.
  • Participate in cross-training by helping to train others on your position job functions and by learning to perform the job functions of other positions within your department.
  • Organize tasks efficiently, prioritize, maintain focus, and stay productive.
  • Regularly check email for important company communications and review posted memos.
  • Attend and actively participate in department meetings, store-wide and org-wide meetings, and trainings, as requested.
  • Assist in other departments, inventory counts, store-wide cleaning, and perform all other duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Must have clear and accurate penmanship, so all numbers and letters are legible.

  • Can consistently perform all tasks efficiently, at an acceptable rate and free of errors, according to department procedure.
  • Can accept feedback openly without defensiveness.

  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least one year of customer service and cash handling experience required; knowledge and ability to perform detailed cash reconciliations, and availability to work all shifts as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical Requirements

  • Sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders.
  • Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.

Work Environment

This position works in a confined office behind locked doors with occasional traffic. Ability to work in moderate and loud noise environments including, but not limited to; computers, paging, telephones, human voices, sound system and machinery. Job-related travel between Arcata and Eureka store, reliable form of transportation required.

Customary Work Schedule

This is a part-time non-union position. Shifts and workdays may vary, with appropriate rest and meal breaks provided.
