Your responsibilities will include managing multiple tasks, coordinating with contractors, overseeing project timelines, and maintaining clear communication to ensure smooth project execution from start to finish.

Level II Pay Rate: $24.00 - $28.80
Level III Pay Rate: $28.80 - $34.56
Rate depends on education and experience.
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week, 12 months/year

POSITION OVERVIEW
Under general oversight and direction, the Construction Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and coordination of the strategies and activities to meet the overall goals and/or funder requirements related to assigned projects. This is a highly collaborative position that requires creativity, an ability to think strategically, and above average communication and organizational skills. This position may be called upon to act as a liaison to local, regional, state, or federal partners, as well as engage with contractors, clients and members of the community, requiring a high level of professionalism and emotional intelligence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret individual project specifications, plans and detailed documents to determine requirements and planning procedures.
- Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully; develop alternative solutions; works well in a team problem solving situations.
- Maintain quality control by frequent and regular inspection of work and work-in-progress.
- Triage phone calls to ensure that each query or issue is handled by the appropriate person or department.
- Complete project close-out procedures.
- Perform home assessments using mobile application and generate assessment report outlining “required” and “recommended” measures.
- Review report with Project Manager before reviewing with homeowner. Obtain homeowners agreement and develop a site-specific scope of work to later be delivered to the contractor. Once a contract is signed by all parties, site-work can commence.
- Work with the Project Manager, project staff and the community to address home hardening and implement defensive space of the most vulnerable components of a home with building materials and installation techniques that increase resistance to heat, flames, and embers that accompany most wildfires.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience:
- Level I: 3 years of experience in a similar position or related field, is preferred but not required. (No staff supervision assignments at this level.)
- Level II: A minimum combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate degree in a related field (such as Business or Public Administration, Health & Human Services, etc.) from an accredited school, plus a minimum of one year’s experience in the same or similar position. (No staff supervision assignments at this level.)
- Level III: A minimum combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited school, plus a minimum of one year’s experience in the same or similar position.
- A minimum of two years of prior experience supervising staff is required for Level III when supervision responsibilities are expected.
- Past experience with project-based work and/or administration of grant-funded programs is preferred (required for Level II and Level III.)
- Must possess strong facilitation and communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate with diverse organizations, community groups and community members.
- Possess a general understand of accounting processes relating to budget management.
Knowledge of:
- Principles and practices of interpersonal communications.
- Current standard office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Computer operations as relates to the duties of the position; position requires demonstrated proficiency in the use of cloud-based systems, word processing, email, and spreadsheet programs and the internet.

Necessary Special Skills & Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- For work-related driving, must have a valid California driver’s license, a verifiable good driving record, and access to a vehicle with insurance that covers the employee as a driver OR reliable transportation with proof of automobile insurance.
