Statement of Purpose:
Provides basic patient care in accordance with the established plan of care under the supervision of the registered nurse. Collects data related to patient condition, provides treatments and records/reports pertinent data. Provides care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations. Interacts with patients, families, physicians, visitors, and all hospital staff.
Job Requirements
Experience – Completion of junior year (or equivalent) in an accredited nursing program.
Education and Training – Licensed Nursing Assistant certification and license required.
Successful completion of general orientation/nursing unit orientation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities – Documentation from the nurse extern’s school of nursing of: level of training and corresponding nursing competencies. Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Interest in improving knowledge base and pursuing a nursing career.
