Job Summary: As a Toddler/Float Teacher, you will play a crucial role in the early development and education of toddlers aged approximately 18 months to 3 years. You will create a nurturing and engaging environment where toddlers can explore, learn, and grow through age-appropriate activities and interactions. As a float teacher you will familiarize yourself with children in all of our rooms and follow the daily plans and lessons for each room.
Responsibilities:
- Child Care: Provide attentive care and supervision to toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and ensuring their safety at all times.
- Lesson Planning: Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and lessons that promote toddlers' cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Play-Based Learning: Facilitate play-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and exploration among toddlers.
- Individualized Attention: Recognize and respond to the individual needs and abilities of each toddler in your care, adapting activities and interactions accordingly.
- Parent Communication: Maintain open and positive communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress, behavior, and daily activities.
- Health and Safety: Ensure a safe and clean environment for toddlers, following health and safety guidelines and protocols.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of each child’s developmental milestones, daily activities, and any significant incidents or observations.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members to coordinate activities, share resources, and ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with toddlers in a childcare or educational setting.
- Understanding of toddler development and appropriate teaching strategies.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A passion for teaching and a willingness to learn and grow alongside our team.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry toddlers, bend, stoop, and sit on the floor to interact with children at their level.
Working Conditions:
- Typically work indoors in a toddler classroom or childcare center.
- May involve standing or moving around for extended periods.
