What are the responsibilities and job description for the Correctional Industries Manager position at North Dakota Corrections & Rehab?
Summary of Work
Supervise and lead RRI team members and meet all production requirements and deadlines. Responsible to ensure necessary inmate labor, materials, equipment, and product inventories to meet production schedules. Coordinate and supervise the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
Train inmate workers in the methods and procedures necessary to produce a quality product while maintaining safety training and standards. Enforce shop rules and regulations in tool control within the secure environment of the James River Correctional Center and ensure safety and inmate control at all times. Maintain security of work areas and materials; inspect areas for contraband such as potential weapons.
Evaluate production efficiency, and product quality through established methods to ensure standards are met. Maintain operation solvency, and work constantly to increase production, efficiency, and product quality. Maintain orders, product structures, production reports, inmate payroll, purchase requisitions, and computerized inventories using specified software programs. Prepare and maintain all required production records, reports, and forms (safety data, tool and chemical control, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or GED and four years of prior management or supervisory work experience. Prior work experience must include most of the following: oversight in production scheduling, product design, prototype construction, building product structures and material billing, quality control, inventory management, providing bid estimates, and experience in working with computerized manufacturing software.
A college degree may substitute for prior work experience on a year for year basis. At least one year of related work experience, as defined above, is still required for a bachelors or graduate degree.
