What are the responsibilities and job description for the TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR position at North East Medical Services?
The Transportation Coordinator provides support in timely completion of various routine departmental clerical assignments and other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager/Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares and ensures accuracy of drivers daily schedules.
- Provides route update to drivers and communicates in a timely manner.
- Oversees and manages company fleet vehicles including repairs, maintenance records, insurance claims, incident reports, cleaning & disinfection, and licenses update.
- Establishes a positive rapport with program participants, participants family members, and other members of the care team and its network providers.
- Assists in training drivers to strive towards providing excellent services and treatments to all participants and staff.
- Assesses resources and forecasts potential problems in operations and schedules to ensure proper coverage of drivers.
- Reports and reviews all issues promptly and provides possible solutions.
- Maintains accuracy and confidentiality of all participants information.
- Performs general office duties, processes program enrollments, authorizations, billing charges entry, insurance eligibility and verifications, and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Covers driver when necessary to ensure proper coverage to participants.
- Utilizes applications and software in electronic health records (EHR) such as EPIC appropriately & efficiently and serve as content & workflow expert for resolving issues and proposing solutions.
- Performs other job duties as required by Transportation Manager/Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Valid class C license required; class B license preferred, with a clean driving record (no violations within the last 5 years)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in professional transportation service and/or 2 years of experience in office setting of related fields required.
- Extensive knowledge & experience in senior care programs and/or relevant field preferred.
- Must work flexible schedule with occasional weekends.
- May require operating other company vehicles or tools as needed.
- Current BLS and First Aid certificates required.
- Excellent in customer service.
LANGUAGE (preferred/asset/required):
- Ability to speak, read and write in English required.
- Ability to speak Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese), Vietnamese, or Spanish is preferred.
- Fluency in other languages is an asset.
STATUS:
- This is a FLSA Non-exempt position.
- This is not an OSHA high-risk position.
- This is a Full Time position.
