RATE : $34-$35 (depending on experience and unit acuity)
SHIFT : 7AM-3 : 30PM | 3PM-11PM, Every Other Weekend

JOB DESCRIPTION :
An RN Unit Manger is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care of all residents on a specific nursing unit. They will oversee the day-to-day clinical activities of health care personnel, such as LPNs and CNAs, while maintaining a safe environment for residents. The Unit Coordinator will interpret patient information and make critical decisions. They administer medication, wound care and other personalized interventions.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Demonstrates knowledge of age specific developmental factors specific to the adult and geriatric population in the planning and delivery of careDemonstrates knowledge, skills and techniques necessary to care for residents with the following needs : therapeutic, neuro and dementia, dialysis, IV therapy, infectious disease, wound care, end of life care, if applicableAssures completion of a comprehensive nursing evaluation of a resident’s physical, emotional and mental status upon admission / re-admission and when indicated, as well as appropriate follow-up as indicated by the evaluation.Attends various facility meetings (QAPI, morning report, care plan, wound, etc) as invited or requiredAttends all required in-servicesSupervises the staff nurses, nursing rehab assistants, certified nursing assistants, unit clerks (if applicable), and completes annual and probationary evaluations of sameSupervises the staff nurses in the administration and documentation of medications, treatments and other nursing services, ensure that the medical record reflects progress and the current condition of the resident at all timesIssues appropriate preliminary disciplinary action to nursing staff as necessaryReceives report from previous shift, makes rounds and assesses the needs of the residents / patientsReports to oncoming shift staff nurse / unit coordinator / RN Supervisor any pertinent information regarding residentsTracks and maintains immunization and infection control logsMakes appropriate referrals to the dentist, optometrist, podiatrist, psychiatrist, social worker and specialized therapies to meet the resident’s needs as indicatedAbility to adjust to changes in unit / shift assignments and meet the resident and facility needsDisplays optimism fostering a spirit of teamwork, positive attitude and conflict resolution among co-workers. Interacts positively with residents, family members and visitors in all circumstancesInteracts with insurance companies to ensure that benefits are provided as indicatedMaintains resident rightsMaintains HIPAA privacy, security and confidentiality standardsFollows all established policies and proceduresMaintains Corporate Compliance standardsContributes to facility Quality Assurance Performance Improvement initiativesCompletes any other duties as assigned by SupervisorREQUIREMENTS :
Completed Nursing Program trainingValid NYS Registered Nursing LicenseExperience in long-term care facility preferredNo findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment and misappropriation of propertyAble to interpret patient information and make critical decisions about necessary actionsAbility to supervise and work well with and show respect toward other health care personnel (i.e., CNAs, LPNs, physicians, etc.), residents and their family membersStrong written and verbal communication skills; able to follow written and verbal instructionsRespect for residents’ privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderlyAble to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness and kindnessPhysical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 poundsABOUT US :
