Counselor

The S/A, D/V, and Outreach Counselor’s primary responsibilities are to provide Evidence-Based Counseling services for clients of domestic and sexual violence to include individual and group therapy. The counselor shall develop programs for community outreach and to provide crisis intervention, assessments, and short-term counseling for our shelter clients. Will conduct periodic quality control audits for service and data integrity. As the counselor, must participate in the development of client treatment plans, prepare and maintain current records, intake assessments, progress notes, and other appropriate documentation. Participation in mandatory network, department, and treatment staff meetings will be required.

Education:

• Master’s Degree from an accredited college and/or university in human service field, counseling, social work, or relevant field.
• A valid Georgia license is required.

Experience:

• Minimum 1 (one) year professional experience working in human service industry

• Excellent written and verbal skill.
• Experience with crisis intervention and establishing rapport with clients from various cultural populations and backgrounds.

• Proven ability to facilitate and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to deal with confidential materials with discretion.
• Participate in mandatory agency, department, and program staff meetings and quality assurance activities.

Essential Functions: Use of computer and telephone; reading; interacting with people; language and speech skills; consistent and timely attendance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
