DEPARTMENT: Office of University Marketing & Creative Services
Position Summary: This position will serve as a vital member of the university marketing & creative services team in running the print production area of the University. The job involves planning, directing, and coordinating all print production and administrative operations. The individual will produce black and white and color digital output (stock selection, scoring/folding, impositions, trimming, collating, bindery, and any finishing aspects as noted on job tickets). Also work with our envelope press and large format output and plotting. Also coordinate specialty print projects through outside vendors. The role requires loving to collaborate with other high performers to get things done.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Director of University Marketing & Creative Services (UMACS) and various internal and external clients to conduct intake, scoping, charting, budgeting, and executing of marketing & communication projects.
- Identify and monitor key performance indicators and dashboards for print operations metrics.
- Oversee a program of preventive maintenance and equipment repair in accordance with production needs and objectives.
- Assist in preparing budget related reports.
- Arbitrate production scheduling priority conflicts when required.
- Assist in developing new products, selling prices and presentations.
- Package jobs, complete job tickets, and deliver receipts, as necessary.
- Arrange delivery schedules and make deliveries.
- Responsible for shipping and receiving area including ensuring all shipments received are accurate to packing list.
- Keep dock and receiving area clean and organized.
- Label stock received with job numbers and store in appropriate locations.
- Make sure digital and conventional production areas have sufficient stock.
- Collaborate with creative marketing members such as writers and designers to produce content in support of completing projects on-time.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
This position is a full-time non-exempt salary position. The Print Production Associate is expected to collaborate with the institution’s marketing, admission, alumni, and advancement engagement teams closely. The position reports to the Director of University Marketing & Creative Services. The nature of responsibilities makes it necessary to work in-person and on location with other team members.
WORK SCHEDULE
The Office of University Marketing & Creative Services is open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Summer hours may vary. Office hours are subject to change as deemed necessary. Occasional work on Saturdays, Sundays, and evenings will be required.
TRAVEL
Some travel will be required.

- Requires a bachelor's degree in management, business or graphic arts.
- 2-3 years of experience in printing operations with subject matter expertise.
- Requires a thorough knowledge of the printing industry, sales, budgeting, and management techniques.
- Because of the variety of contacts, requires a high degree of tact and diplomacy and a good sense of business etiquette.
- Willingness to acquire additional technical skillsets to meet the needs of new and expanding strategic initiatives. Exhibit a never-ending desire to learn how things work.
