We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Residential Mental Health Professional to join our team at North Homes Children & Family Services. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a residential setting, providing essential mental health services to children and families in the Grand Rapids area.
The Mental Health Professional provides compassionate, evidence-based therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups facing a range of mental health challenges. This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing personalized treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions to help clients achieve their mental health goals. The Mental Health Professional will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care, engage in ongoing professional development, and stay current with best practices and emerging trends in the field. Key Responsibilities:
Mental Health Duties:
- Provide bi-weekly face-to-face clinical supervision to staff providing services to children, including mental health practitioners.
- Offer individual and group clinical supervision to staff.
- Conduct family counseling and individual therapy sessions.
- Develop and document individualized treatment plans for clients.
- Supervise the implementation of treatment plans and ensure ongoing documentation and evaluation of client progress, including 90-day progress reviews.
- Administer and interpret psychological evaluations.
- Complete required professional development and training to maintain licensure.
- Be available for consultation on mental health emergencies, responding within 30 minutes by phone.
Continuous Quality Improvement:
- Participate in meetings with Quality Assurance staff and share key takeaways with the team.
- Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and agency best practice standards.
- Contribute to the review and revision of program policies, procedures, and forms, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team.
- Monitor compliance with client record protocols and peer review processes.
- Share results of quality assurance reports (e.g., client outcome data, third-party record audits, state licensing reviews) with the team.
- Implement corrective action plans when necessary.
Intern Supervision and Mentorship:
- Supervise and mentor interns, providing guidance, feedback, and support throughout their assignment.
- Conduct regular check-in meetings to discuss challenges, progress, and learning objectives.
- Assist in the intern onboarding process, introducing them to team members and departmental procedures.
- Facilitate meaningful project involvement, encouraging collaboration with team members and fostering a team-oriented environment.
- Participate in the formal evaluation process, providing constructive feedback to support the intern's professional development.
- Encourage interns to engage in learning opportunities such as workshops, meetings, and training sessions to enhance their knowledge and skills.
Other Duties:
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or agency leadership.

Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Licensure: Current independent licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum of three years of experience providing individual and group therapy to children and adolescents.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with evidence-based practices, child and adolescent mental health issues, and therapeutic modalities.
- Training: Ongoing commitment to professional development and training to maintain licensure.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to conduct therapy sessions that may include sitting for extended periods and interacting with clients both in-person and virtually.
