Head Women’s Soccer Coach/Athletic Associate
CATEGORY/LEVEL: PSS/6 (Full-time, 12-month position)
BASIC FUNCTION: Administer all aspects of a college soccer program. Provide support to the Athletic Director through operational support of athletic programs, facilities, and grounds, event management, compliance and fundraising. Additional duties within Athletics or another campus department may be incorporated, depending on experience and qualifications.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Starting salary of $37,600 to $45,200 based on experience. Benefits package includes Blue Cross/Blue Shield major medical health insurance; eye care, dental, life and disability insurance; paid vacation and sick leave; a choice of IPERS or TIAA retirement plans, and a variety of additional optional benefits.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: College-level coaching preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Responsible for coordinating the women’s soccer program in collaboration with the Athletic Director. Duties include, but are not limited to, team travel, training sessions, competitions, recruitment, budget and purchasing, and special events.
• Assist the Athletic Director in the role of Athletic Associate with operational support as assigned and in areas such as athletic event management, facilities and department operations, grounds maintenance, and compliance.
• In collaboration with the Athletic Director, develop and maintain a consistent fundraising effort and assist with departmental fundraising events and objectives.
• Create and maintain a soccer program culture that places an emphasis on academic achievement and a commitment to learner success. Collaborate with campus departments and personnel to maximize efforts for student academic support and services.
• Adhere to all sports rules, procedures, and guidelines established by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) constitution and bylaws.
• Collaborate with administration on all topics related to soccer student-athlete initial and continuing eligibility guidelines established by the NJCAA.
• Collaborate with the Athletic Director to forecast annual budgetary needs for the soccer program, monitor expenditures in a fiscally responsible manner that aligns with institutional policies and procedures.
• Design and administer an in-season and off-season training and development program that maximizes efforts and output in alignment with NJCAA Article VII Section 2 guidelines.
• Responsible for the recruitment and training of assistant coaches and team support personnel.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining a recruitment, development, and retention strategy that produces consistency with regard to competition outcome goals and roster size objectives for the soccer program.
• Effectively contribute to institutional core values by focusing on educational excellence, learner success, community engagement, continuous improvement, and collaborative leadership.
Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.
