Overview:
Historical Museum New Opportunity!
Hours: Part-Time 20-25 hours per week, Wednesday – Saturday 11 am – 4 pm (Saturdays and occasional evenings required)
Pay: $15.00 per hour

Reports to: Museum Director
Benefits: 40 hours of annual paid time off and paid holidays (when they fall on museum open days)
Announcement:
The North Lincoln County Historical Museum is looking for a new part-time staff member to share the museum’s mission with visitors and community members. This is a small staff with wonderful volunteers and is a fun work environment. The primary responsibility for this role will be greeting visitors and answering questions at the front desk, handling transactions in the gift shop sales, occasional tours, and other special projects. Additional museum projects will be assigned to fit the applicant’s skill set & the museum’s needs. See below for job responsibilities and preferred skills and experience.

Job Responsibilities:
Greets museum visitors and answers general historical questions.
Answers phones & takes messages.
Gift shop upkeep, inventory and sales.
Opens and closes the museum facility.
Basic cleaning of doors, surfaces, and museum cases.
Data entry.
Other duties as needed, and special project(s) TBD!
Required Skills and Experience:
Front desk and cash register experience.
Weekend and evening availability.
Positive, patient, friendly, & helpful attitude with the public.
Collaborative and constructive.
Punctual, responsible and reliable.
Ability to positively interact with guests, volunteers, staff, and board members.
Computer skills and program knowledge - such as Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Suite, and PastPerfect.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of local history.
Knowledge of local tourist activities and restaurants.
Practice researching with primary resources.
Academic and/or practical experience working/volunteering in museums, libraries, or archives.
Physical Nature of Job (accommodations available):
Sit and stand for long periods.
Walk, bend and stoop to turn on museum display case lights.
Reaching overhead to clean museum display cases.
Using and balancing on a step ladder to reach inventory.
Lift up to 30 pounds (moving file boxes, etc.).
