Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist
The Certified Surgical Technologist is a vital member of the surgical team, responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient operating room environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surgical procedures by selecting supplies, instruments, and equipment, and maintaining sterile techniques.
- Assist surgeons by handing instruments, sponges, sutures, catheters, dressings as needed.
- Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize instruments for re-use according to hospital policy and procedure.
- Perform surgical counts with RN circulator and maintain sterility of the operating field.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of operating room Technician or 5 years OR experience.
- Surgical Tech certification from an Accredited program within 1 Year.
- Three to six months of orientation/training depending on experience.
Requirements:
- Competent to provide care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments.
- Good communication skills and reflect a positive caring attitude toward customers and co-workers.
- Ability to maintain composure in a stressful environment.
